Code of Conduct

Introduction 

​

Kingston Gym + Swim (KGS) is a shared gym, pool and wellness facility located within a residential precinct. 

Our aim is to provide a safe, welcoming and well-run environment for all members. 

​

This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour, safety and use of the facility. By accessing or using KGS, you agree to comply with this Code, as well as our Terms & Conditions, Waiver and Privacy Policy. KGS reserves the right to enforce this Code and take action where necessary to protect safety, security and the enjoyment of the facility by others.

General Behaviour & Safety 

​

All members are expected to: 

  • Act respectfully toward others at all times  

  • Use the facility safely and as intended  

  • Be mindful of others’ space, privacy and comfort  

  • Follow reasonable directions from KGS staff or authorised personnel  

  • Help maintain a safe environment for themselves and others  

  • Refrain from harassment, intimidation or inappropriate behaviour toward others

Any behaviour that places yourself or others at risk, or disrupts the use of the facility, is not permitted. 

​

Access, Bookings & Security 

​

  • All access to the facility is managed via our booking and access system  

  • Members must book before attending and use their own fob or mobile access to enter  

  • Accessing areas without a valid booking or outside booked times is not permitted. 

  • Tailgating or allowing others to enter on your access is not permitted  

  • Access credentials are issued to individual users only and must not be shared or transferred. 

  • Guests or casual users may only enter after completing the required online sign-up, waiver and payment  

  • External personal trainers or coaching sessions are not permitted within the facility

CCTV surveillance is in operation for safety, security and monitoring purposes. 

​

Use of Facilities & Equipment 

​

Members must: 

  • Use equipment correctly and for its intended purpose  

  • Return weights and equipment to their original place after use  

  • Book multiple timeslots if attending across more than one session  

  • Use safety arms on rigs when lifting alone  

  • Wear a duress lanyard when training alone (recommended)

Damage, faults or safety concerns must be reported promptly to KGS staff on-site or via email to info@kingstongymswim.com.au  

​

Hygiene & Cleanliness 

​

To maintain a high standard of hygiene: 

  • Showering is required before entering the pool, sauna or ice bath  

  • Towels are required in the sauna and gym at all times  

  • Equipment must be wiped down after use  

  • Shared spaces should be left clean and tidy  

  • Members should not attend the facility if unwell or experiencing symptoms that may pose a risk to others

Attire & Personal Presentation 

  • Appropriate training attire, including top, is required in gym areas at all times 

  • Swimwear is required in the pool, sauna and ice bath areas  

  • Clothing must be suitable, non-offensive and allow safe movement  

​

Music, Noise & Neighbours 

  • Music is permitted in the gym at appropriate volumes  

  • Content should be suitable for a shared space  

  • Decibel displays indicate maximum volume levels  

  • Members must be mindful that KGS is located in a residential building, particularly early morning and evening  

​

Children, Guests & Casual Access 

  • Children may only attend during approved times and under the conditions expressly communicated by KGS  

  • Children are not permitted to use equipment unless explicitly authorised  

  • Guests and casual users must complete the required sign-up and waiver before entering  

​

Filming & Privacy 

  • Filming for personal use (e.g. technique review) is permitted  

  • Where others may be visible, their permission must be obtained first  

  • Filming must not disrupt others or compromise privacy

Breaches 

​

Failure to comply with this Code may result in: 

  • Warnings or education  

  • Temporary suspension of access  

  • Termination of membership  

  • Further action where required for safety or legal reasons  

​

This Code applies to all members, trial participants, guests and casual users. KGS may update this Code from time to time. The current version will always be available via QR code from within the facility and on our website.
